TRUTH:Black Lives Matter❤️

Before you read this, I want you to first open your heart and then your mind. Really open your mind. Because what I’m going to express is some real truth. This may ruffle a few feathers but it’s my blog and I can express my opinion with facts.
When I say BLACK LIVES MATTER, I’m not saying that ALL LIVES don’t matter. Yes, all lives matter but there is clearly a BIGGER problem that needs to be addressed. Here’s a picture that express the difference between the two.

One thing I love about knowledge, it’s POWER.  That’s why in slavery days it was forbidden. If a slave could read, they would be  beaten or worse, KILLED.

Black lives matter is not a hate group, it was created to bring awareness to injustice that black people face in this country especially with the laws and law enforcement.

Black Lives Matter is a chapter-based national organization working for the validity of Black life. We are working to (re)build the Black liberation movement(-BLM.com)

I’m not anti white people or hate white people. I love white people. Hello, I married one.
I’m not anti cops👮 or hate cops. It’s sad that people who feel so much hurt in their heart feel like they have to retaliate and kill cops. That’s not what BLM movement is about. It’s sad that there is a war on cops. I don’t condone violence of any sort.

I’m no way playing the victim card

But if you have NEVER been judge for being black, you can’t tell me how I should feel. You can’t even fathom half the things I’ve already been through in my 27 years of life. You can sympathize but you will never really know what it’s like to be black. I can share my struggles left and right. I’ve been humiliated and it’s made me be humble, even when I didn’t or want to be.

I always can tell people who don’t know any black people or have any black friends because they say the most ignorant statements. And it’s unfortunate to see and hear most of the comments.

    Ask yourself these questions ?
1. Have you ever been pulled over for no apparent reason, but just because you’re in a nice car or neighborhood, you don’t belong?
 It’s called” driving while black”.

Driving while black, abbreviated as DWB, is a phrase in American English that refers to the racial profiling of black drivers. The phrase implies that a motorist might be pulled over by a police officer, questioned, and searched, simply because he or she is black.[-Wikipedia]

🙋🏾I have

2. Have you ever been followed in a store or accused of stealing? I have🙋🏾

several occasions,to the point where the cops pulled their guns out on me.{ I made a post about it about 3 years ago.} I wasn’t stealing .

3. Have you ever worked a job where you always were in trouble because you were the black girl?

🙋🏾

4. Or been to a restaurant and get served poorly, while the table across gets perfect service because their skin color is different, the servers stereotype you. ” oh she won’t tip good, because she’s black” 🤔🙋🏾now I’m forced not to tip because service was BAD!

The list goes on…. So unless you have had any of these situations happen to you, don’t tell me my feelings aren’t valid.

5. I remember in school when a friend of mine who was black got jumped by 5 white girls, I tried to help by defending off these bullies and out of everybody,we were the only two who got suspended. 🤔🤔🤔I still think about that. Two black girls get jumped and suspended  while the white girls got off and they started the fight.

Another instance at my other high school( yes ,I went to two different schools) I was friends with a white girl name Danielle. I will never forget when she told me, I could never come over her house because her family didn’t like black people and she wasn’t allowed to be even be friends with me. I remember asking her what if she wanted to date someone who was black? And she said her dad would disown her. This was almost 10 years ago. So please don’t tell me racism doesn’t exist.
I’ve heard comments about my husband and I as well, that are ignorant too. Won’t go into much detail, but they were hurtful and not worth repeating. It’s 2016 and people don’t like interracial couples and say mean things about biracial children.
So remember when you comment on my page or say something to me, that I am a black woman. I’m proud of who I AM. When I look in the mirror, I see a queen looking back at me.
I am well educated and I know my history of my people and I know my experiences.. My feelings are valid. My heart is as strong as a lion. No one can change my opinion. I’m a black woman and my son is black.

This is America

How is it that we live in the greatest country where immigrants came here to make it great and we are dealing with racism still?

People have lost their lives fighting for every day freedoms but yet black people are still fighting to be treated equally?

I don’t get it. Blows my mind. Wake up.

I will always raise my head high and teach my son the same.

Yes, I support all human life but I’m talking about the injustice that is served EVERY single day.

I hear this comment way to often, well y’all kill your own people.

Yes,I know black ppl kill their own people every single day. But the same people who kill them go to jail.

But let’s be real. I support blacks lives matter movement. If you actually take the time to read and know about it, you would to.

Don’t forget to pray for our country and for ALL PEOPLE. We need more love and less hate.

Deployment Thoughts🤔

Deployment Thoughts

I can’t believe that it has been 5 months( on 7/15//16) since my husband has been gone on deployment. We are almost to the half way point of this being over.

I decided to share a few of my thoughts of the process thus far.

I’m learning so much about myself and honestly enjoying the time to actually focus on me a little. It was definitely hard at first.
Most of my time is focused on our son Jaxon. Jaxon keeps me busy 99.9 percent of the time.

I’m so thankful to be able to be at home with him. I prayed that God would make a way that allowed me to be home and not have a 9 to 5.

He heard my prayer and I’m here with my baby.

Being a full time SAHM is a tough job. Harder than any full time dental job I’ve ever had. But the MOST REWARDING! I Mean it, the best job I could ever have. From the time I open my eyes until I close my eyes, I’m working. Most of the time no breaks, because it’s just me. I’m not complaining, just speaking the truth.

My day usually starts at 7 am with Jaxon pulling on me and giving me kisses. Sometimes Jax will wake up before 7 and I refuse to get out bed before then. Jaxon is usually in bed and sleep by 8pm.
I only have a few friends that I actually hang out with that have children, so I usually schedule play dates once or even twice a week. My son has great social skills and loves playing with his friends.

I love play dates because it gives me a chance to connect with other moms and get/or give advice on parenting. A lot of times I spend so much time with Jaxon I forget that I need to have adult conversation.

One thing that I’ve learned during this deployment is that I’m a strong human being.

I find that when I’m sad the most, so is my husband. I try not to cry and hide my feelings because I have to be strong for him. I know my husband being away is super hard on him. A strong marriage requires a husband and wife to be strong for one another in moments where the other may be weak.
I will continue to uplift my husband and be his strongest supporter. My husband is the strongest person I know. It’s not easy being away from your wife and child a year, in a foreign country by yourself.

Most of the time when I get stressed out or frustrated with something, I try to remember that my husband would help and be here if he could.
Honestly, prayer has really changed my life. I find that when I pray in the beginning of my day, my day runs smoother.
Many people take for granted their spouses and I’m learning that you have to cherish every moment and be appreciative of them.

The best compliment I received so far from my husband was a simple ” thank you for taking care of our son, I know it’s hard, I appreciate you”.

Family has been another great factor. My husband Grandmother is one of the best people ever besides MY family that is constantly checking on Jaxon and I.
It means the world to me that even though she’s about 12hours away, she calls and constantly emails me.

My family has also been great during this deployment. Without my Mommy, sister Shanae and sister/scuzzy Shelly,I wouldn’t be able to handle it thusfar.
A lot of people say they will there for you but actions speak volumes. Ive learned who really cares about us within the first month. From friends to family, I learned who really loves us. It takes a simple call or email. I will just leave that here.
My closest friends Kiara and Hannah have also been amazing. One lives about 30 mins away and the other all the way in Texas.
I have FaceTime dates with Kiara ALL the time.

I admit I try to stay really busy. I’ve been doing tons of home projects, started this blog and I stay uploading on my YouTube channel, I’m also finishing my classes in interior design and I’ve been doing a summer reading program with my niece Ari.
I’ve been so handy around my house. My brother inlaw, Daddy O has been my saving grace. He has fixed so many things around my house. I’m so grateful for family. My nephew Bryce is also an amazing guy too, he cuts my grass once a week.
We have one more visit with my husband coming up and then he will be home. I’m just counting down..
I’m glad to share a little bit of an update. I hope you enjoyed and I’ll see you in the next post.

🇨🇦Canada🇨🇦Eh!Family Vacation Trip

“WE ALL WE GOT”
I’m so very excited to write about this year’s annual family vacation trip. How do I fit 5 days into 1 blog post?! Well, I’m going to try. Here it goes…

This group of people are the coolest, realist, dopest, most loving, fun and crazy bunch who I call family. They say you can’t choose who your family is. Well, I’m so very thankful God gave me this group.

My mother Eleanor has 4 children. Shanae,Henry, Rell and me (her favorite)! Haha, the youngest is always the favorite ,unless you are the only child. My mom taught us to always love one another. Not by just words but actions.

My sister Shanae organized this wonderful vacation and made it one of the best trips we have all been on so far. Every year each trip triumphs over the last. So I want to thank her for her great skills for always planning and organizing our trips

left to right (Rell,Shanae, Me, and Henry)

Henry is married to Marissa and they have 2 beautiful children.

Rell is married to Kelly and they have 4 beautiful children.

Shanae is married to Lando and they have 3 beautiful children (oldest not pictured)

And me, Mia, married to Jason (is not pictured) with one beautiful son.

Every year my family takes a family trip. We plan months or even a year before. One of the things that I love about family or should I say about MY FAMILY, is that no matter where, or how far away, they will come and visit. No amount of money or lack there of will stop anyone from coming for our get togethers.

It was established a few years ago by my sister that we would make annual family get togethers no matter what. Sometimes it’s difficult to coordinate everyone’s schedule. But for the most part we are together. My brother Rell couldn’t attend the last one, so it had been two years since we’d seen him and the family.

My older brother Rell made up our family slogan/logo “We all we got” when he was a teenager and it has always stuck.

This year we picked Canada! Eh! What a beautiful place?! Originally my husband was suppose to come but he ended up getting deployed for a year a few months before the trip. My husband still wanted Jaxon and I to enjoy it, so that’s what we did.

First thing we did once we got to the Hilton Hotel after checking in was go to the pool to SWIM. The pool area had a water slide and 2 big pools. One of the pools was toddler/kid friendly. Jaxon enjoyed swimming with my sister Shanae and I.

One of the days we went to a theme park called Canada Wonderland. It reminds me of the theme park we have in Virginia called Busch Gardens, except this place wasn’t nearly as crowed.  We all wore family shirts as we always do. Same theme different colors. I really loved the color of our shirts this year. It made it really easy to find one another.

The food at the theme park was pretty good. The best thing I ate was a funnel cake that was topped with powered sugar, vanilla ice cream in the middle and topped with fresh strawberries. Yes, it was so good, makes me want to cuss. Haha. But seriously it was the best 13 dollars I spent.

I didn’t really ride any rides but only one with Jaxon in SNOOPY LAND. My baby had such a great time and it was so good to be with family. Everyone was obsessed and showering Jaxon with so much love. My sister-in-law, Marissa was trying to win the favorite Aunt award. Although every aunt and uncle is the favorite.

Jackson, Jaxon and Jackson (The Jackson Guys)

This family vacation was the first time my brother Rell got to meet Jaxon. It was bitter sweet. My brothers are such great men, not only good husbands but fathers as well. I respect and love them so much. To honor them, I named my son after them.  So I had to get a picture of them all together❤️! Jaxon was so in love with having his uncles spoil him.

We also got to celebrate Canada Day!  It’s basically like Independence Day in the U.S. but in Canada! It was really dope. We went down to Niagara Falls, where the water was lit in red and white colors, the country’s colors. They also had an amazing firework show. It was 100’s of people, maybe more. Good thing our hotel was right across the street(about a 10min walk). What surprised me is how expensive everything was there. I was spending an average of 15 to 20 a meal on just myself😩. Thank God the bank converts the final price to U.S dollars.
We went on the Amazing Skylon tower to see the complete views of Niagara Falls. This was so cool to do. We rode an elevator all the way to the top and was able to see impeccable views.

4th of July was pretty awesome! We got celebrate my sister Shanae’s birthday. Went to a breakfast buffet with the entire gang and enjoyed each other’s company before my brother Henry and his family had to leave.

“The Horn Blower”

If I had to tell you one thing you should do while in Canada, it would be to do this excursion. One of the most memorable times I had. Definitely the highlight of my vacation. The lines weren’t too bad because my family decided to do it during a week day(4th of July). Wasn’t expensive at all.  The boat basically takes you up close and personal to The Falls. It’s so different seeing it up so close. My hair didn’t survive lol, even with my poncho on.  Jaxon was just amazed as well, he did so good. We all were soaked afterwards.

Overall we had such an AMAZING VACATION! I’m so thankful I was able to connect with my family and enjoy sometime away from home.

Thank you all for reading! If you made it this far, I love you!
